First issued in June 2026. Version 1.1 records the change of the company name from Heracles CS Limited to Adliora Ltd, registered at Companies House on 23 July 2026, and corrects the description of third-party services to match what the site loads. Version 1.2 aligns the description of the consent panel with the categories it displays and records the certificate verification badge carried on the trust and assurance page. Version 1.3 records the change of analytics provider from Plausible to Umami and the change from consent-gated loading to measurement that runs by default with an off switch in the consent panel.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits and to remember certain information about your preferences or actions.

Cookies are widely used to make websites function efficiently, to provide analytical information to website owners, and to deliver personalised content. Some cookies are essential for a website to work at all; others are optional and require your consent before they are set.

Alongside cookies, we may also use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, and local storage. References to "cookies" in this policy include those similar technologies unless the context requires otherwise.

2. WHO SETS COOKIES ON OUR WEBSITE

3. CATEGORIES OF COOKIES WE USE

We categorise the cookies on our website as follows. You will be asked for your consent to category 4 when you first visit our website. Category 2 is listed for completeness and has no control in the consent panel while we set no functional cookies. Category 3 stores nothing on your device and needs no consent, and the consent panel gives you a switch that turns it off. You may change any choice at any time using the cookie preference centre accessible via the link in the footer of every page.

Category 1: Strictly Necessary

These keep the website working and cannot be switched off. The only item we hold in this category is a record of your cookie choice, stored in your browser's local storage so the banner does not reappear on every visit. We set no other strictly necessary cookies, and no consent is required for this under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).

Category 2: Functional (requires consent)

We set no functional cookies at present. If we add a feature that needs one, we will list it here and ask for your consent first.

Category 3: Analytics and Performance (on by default, with an off switch)

We use Umami to see in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it. Umami sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and collects no personal data, which is why it can run without consent under PECR. It runs on every visit unless you turn the analytical switch off in the consent panel, and turning it off stops measurement of your visits entirely.

Category 4: Marketing and Targeting (requires consent)

We set no marketing or advertising cookies at present. If that changes, we will list them here and ask for your consent before any are set.

Our analytics

Our analytics is cookieless and runs by default, and the analytical switch in the consent panel turns it off for your visits entirely, so there is nothing to opt out of through a third-party add-on. Use the cookie button in the corner of any page to change your choice at any time.

Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature that signals to websites that you do not wish to be tracked. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to this signal, and our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals specifically. Our cookie preference centre provides a more reliable mechanism for controlling tracking on our site.

5. COOKIES AND CONSENT UNDER UK LAW

The use of cookies in the United Kingdom is regulated by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) as well as the UK GDPR. PECR requires that we obtain your prior consent before storing or accessing non-essential cookies on your device. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous, and must be obtained before the cookies are set.

Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from this consent requirement. Functional and marketing cookies, if we ever set them, require your consent before they are activated. Our analytics sits outside the consent requirement because it neither stores anything on your device nor reads anything from it, and we give you an off switch for it regardless. We do not pre-tick consent boxes or use cookie walls (walls that prevent you from accessing the site unless you accept all cookies).

Where we rely on consent for cookies that also involve the processing of personal data, that consent also serves as the lawful basis for processing under Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time through our cookie preference centre, and we will cease the relevant processing as soon as reasonably practicable.

6. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES AND EXTERNAL SERVICES

Our pages set no third-party cookies themselves. One page carries a third-party embed. The trust and assurance page shows a badge that verifies our Cyber Essentials certificate against the certificate registry, which is served by Blockmark Technologies and loads only when you scroll to it. It is there so that you can check the certificate at source rather than take our word for it, and it is governed by that provider's own policy. Where you follow a link from our site to a third-party service, for example the LinkedIn share links on our articles, that service sets its own cookies on its own pages under its own policy.
